The endurance relay took place on the 11th May and ended on the 12th May 2012. It was a 24hour event which was divided into shifts of 5km each. The whole idea was to raise enough funds for Ruan’s hip replacement, to enable him to play cricket as he did before. Venwood & Baker Electrical CC was one of the sponsors, which made it possible for Ruan to receive the hip replacement operation. The operation took place on the 20th of June, and we were personally informed by his mother that it has been a huge success.
